Numskull Designs Announce Mortal Kombat Klassic Merch

The Mortal Kombat 11 Old Skool Trailer showed everything old is new again thanks to a time bending plotline. Now you can go back to 1992 with a range of Mortal Kombat Klassic apparel and merchandise announced by Numskull Designs and WB Games!

MK & MKII Game Actors at C2E2

Much of the cast from the original Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat II will be present at this year's Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo—better known as C2E2! What is C2E2, you ask? Simply put, it's the biggest gaming/comic/nerd culture convention there is, in the Midwest! In addition to Mortal Kombat, there are many other video games as well as movies, television shows, comics, and other franchises that will be represented at the con. The convention will run from Friday, March 22, to Sunday, March 24.

New York's Toy Fair is the place to be for the latest in collectible merchandse and Storm Collectibles have shown they've still got some klassic Mortal Kombat offerings up their sleeve!

Mortal Kombat 1 & II Soundtrack Getting Re-Release

The folks over at Enjoy the Ride Records are re-pressing the Mortal Kombat 1 & II soundtracks on vinyl! The previous soundtrack release, featuring variants of Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Reptile, sold out almost immediately. Their site now lists the following:

Mortal Kombat Klassic Arcade Cabinet Coming 2019

Arcade 1up, who manufactures arcade cabinets designed for the home user, is adding a Mortal Kombat Classics machine to its lineup! Some of its previous games include a combination Pac-Man & Pac-Man Plus, Galaga & Galaxian, and the rival fighting game Street Fighter II/Street Fighter II Turbo/Super Street Fighter II. Judging from the artwork on the cabinet, it appears that this unit will contain Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Just as with previous re-releases of the klassics, the vanilla Mortal Kombat 3 will not be included in this kollection.

Klassic Mortal Kombat Soundtracks Get Vinyl Release

The sights of Mortal Kombat have frequently been merchandised, but what about the sounds? Thanks to a limited release from Enjoy The Ride Records: audiophiles will be able to enjoy the klassic Dan "Toasty" Forden arcade soundtracks for the first time on vinyl! Read on for details:

Pop Culture Shock Collectibles are paying homage to a major piece of Mortal Kombat lore with their latest statue reveal! Shao Kahn takes the throne of Outworld for the 1:3 Scale collectible, which references Mortal Kombat II and the secret history revealed in Deadly Alliance!

Great Big Story Spotlight Voice of Shao Kahn: Steve Ritchie

For fans who discovered Mortal Kombat in its earliest days, the voice of Steve Ritchie is definitive.

Ritchie's taunts emanated across the arcade floor with the release of Mortal Kombat II. The sequel took players into the purple-hued arenas of Outworld, where Ritchie presided over battle as the voice of Emperor Shao Kahn.

Kahn was physically portrayed in the game's live-action digitized sprites by bodybuilder Brian Glynn, whose impressive physique loomed over other characters. Great Big Story have illuminated the less visible half of the Shao Kahn creation in a short video spotlight. Watch it below:

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the game that started it all - and nostalgic fans might be pleased to know the developers of the iconic original games still get together from time to time!

SDCC: Storm Collectibles Preview Prototype Figures

Hong Kong toy maker Storm Collectibles blew the doors of San Diego Comic Con this year with a booth display that showcased a complete range of new Mortal Kombat action figures!

The VS Series -- tentatively expected to be available Q3 2017 -- focuses on klassic icons of the arcade era. The four figure line-up namely draws from Mortal Kombat II, with emphasis on palette swaps. Fortunately -- a wide variety of prototype sculpts shows they have designs for far broader tastes and more discerning MK fans, too!
